Congratulations to the 2024 Gwatkin Award Recipients

The 2024 Davidson Gwatkin Equity Measurement Prize was awarded to two outstanding projects and recognized three additional projects with honorable mentions. The winning projects were PSI’s Preferences for On-Demand Contraceptive Pills in Malawi project and Abt Global’s Adopting an Appropriate Tool for Efficient Targeting of Patient Subsidy in Afghanistan project. Honorable mentions were awarded to DevAxle’s Compact4Impact Equity Research (C4I) project, SOIL’s Testing the EquityTool’s Ability to Assess Eligibility for Container-Based Sanitation Subsidies in Haiti project, and University of Ghana’s Wealth Status of Women who use Modern Contraceptives project.

The annual Gwatkin Prize recognizes individual authors or co-author teams for their application of the EquityTool, or data obtained with it, to assess and improve services for the poor or to gain insight into wealth equity in low- and middle-income countries. Practitioners and researchers, including students, are eligible to participate.
